Mixing
The Process from Initial enquiry to final product
After the initial enquiry communication, i would arrange to have a call to start a discussion about you, your music and any influences you have, this will also allow you time to get to know me and how i may be able to help you acheive your goals.
During this discussion we would also talk more about your requirements in more detail as mixing a single song will be a slightly different proposal to mixing multiple songs for an EP or Album as this process needs to ensure all the songs are sympathetic to each other . I would also request a sample of your music along with details of any referance tracks, this will give me a better understanding of your music and the feel you are striving for.
We would also discuss the format you are able to provide your music in, i have set out below the standard requirements that would allow me to Mix your Song / Songs as a minimum.
- Individual Instrument / Vocal tracks
- Files to be WAV format
- 44.1 kHz & Sample rate at 24bit
Once we have established your requirements following the above process, i would then be in a position to provide a quote for my work. As every project is different each qoute is specific to the artist's requirements and the provided information.
Once you are happy with the quote and in a position to progress we can then start on the FUN process of Mixing your music and making you sound Amazing.
The Mixing Process - Simplified
Once I have been appointed to Mix your song / songs, and have received your tracks, I will compile a Rough Mix to get the panning and levels somewhere near along with aligning the tracks. this will be to ensure placement of instruments are where you require them, or if you prefer i can carry this out for you.
During the second stage i will carry on with the standard mixing processes to get your song / songs sounding how you want as discussed in the consultation period. At this stage i would issue you a copy of the mix in Mp3 format for you to review and give feedback on.
Once you have reviewed the mix so far and provided any feedback, then i will complete the mix and issue this again in Mp3 for Final review and comment, prior to me finalising the Mix and Exporting the complete project files which would be issued upon completion of payment.
All Tracks and Songs associated with the Mix will be saved within the complete project file for you to retain or use how you wish. I would also keep a copy archived for any future revisions should you wish.
None of the Tracks or Songs for used or produced for your project for other project or distributed / shared / posted or used on my portfolio without the written concent of you' The Artist'. Please refer to the T&C's contained within my quote for further details and clarifications.
